Creating your site
The first thing you will need to do is to create your site. To do that you need to go one of the links below for your school level. If you click on the link, it will open in a new window so you can refer to these instructions.
- Grades K - 4 - Basic site with Home, About, Calendar and a Links pages
- Grades 5 - 8, Middle Schools - Site includes Home, About, Calendar, Links, Classwork and Homework pages
- High Schools - Site includes Home, About, Calendar, Links, Classwork and Homework pages
Once you have selected your school you will be presented with a form to fill out:

Step-by-step instructions through the sign up box:
SITE NAME - The top box with "http://" to the left. This is where you make YOUR address for your site. It can not contain spaces or punctuation marks. Make your site name easy to remember. John Smith might list his address as jsmith or johnsmith or mrsmith. Each teacher should only have ONE site as you will list your classes, information and activities within your site. Please don't name your website for the class you teach. That might change AND you are not the only 4th grade teacher in the district. Parents and students know you by your name.
Name: The name you want displayed on the list of teachers for your school. Your professional name. (examples: John Doe , Mrs. Doe.)
Email: Please use your DVUSD email address. Example: John Doe at Terramar school would be: jdoe@te.dvusd.org
Password: Choose your secret password. Use a password that is easy to remember, hard to guess and has at least 6 characters (letters and numbers combined is best). If your password is compromised notify the webmaster so we can stop the vandalism of your website. DO NOT give your password to any student, at any time, for any reason. Do NOT allow students to work on your website. This system was not intended for student use.
Theme: This is the fun part. The theme is the visual look of your site. There are many to choose from. There is a Preview button below the sign up form. Click and drag to the theme you want to see and then CLICK the PREVIEW button. You can use this popup menu to preview some of the themes in a new window. Just close that new window when you are done looking at the themes.
Once you have filled out all the parts of the form and selected your theme, write the following information on a piece of paper
Website address
Professional Name
Email address you entered
Your password
Then click where it says "Submit". Sit back and gather your website content as your website is being made for you.
Go to Editing your page.
